Thesis (Ph.D.)--Texas A&M University - Commerce, 2011.
The effectiveness of Child Parent Relationship Therapy (CPRT) in lowering parental stress and improving externalizing behaviors in children was examined using an experimental design with parents of multiples (n = 32). A split-plot analysis of variance (SPANOVA) revealed statistically significant interactions and large effect sizes on five of the child and parent domain subscales of the Parenting Stress Index (PSI) as well as the Aggression subscale of the Child Behavior Checklist (CBCL). Implications and clinical significance of the findings are discussed and recommendations for future research are provided.
