The purpose of this project was to create a program, identify funding sources, and to write a grant to fund a comprehensive teen pregnancy prevention program for male and female teenagers attending the Juvenile Intervention & Prevention Program (JIPP) at Belmont High School. An extensive review of the literature demonstrates that sexual health education is an important aspect in the prevention of teen pregnancy. A thorough search for potential funding sources through a grant database and via the internet resulted in the selection of The California Wellness Foundation as the source of funding for this project. Lastly, a grant was written for a teenage pregnancy prevention program, for at-risk male and female teenagers attending the Juvenile Intervention & Prevention Program in Los Angeles, California.
