Personal identity information is a valuable commodity. Large corporations buy, sell and package identity information. One resource full of personal identity information is civil court files. Litigants are required to divulge much personal identity information so that the courts will resolve their disputes. The litigants are not advised that information brokers will harvest the personal identity information, and will profit from the re-sale of this information. Modern computer data access technology makes this possible.
