This study explores the relationships between Hispanic attitudes toward divorce and the pertinent variables of demographics, religiosity, and acculturation. Of the 84 participants, 32 Hispanic men and 52 Hispanic women between 20--67 years of age, completed the verbally administered questionnaires. The quantitative results of this study revealed that the demographic, religiosity, and acculturation variables were not significantly related to divorce attitudes. However, a qualitative review of which items were rated highest and lowest on the divorce attitudes measure, and the themes that emerged from participants' answers to an open-ended question about their thoughts on divorce, provided useful information about Hispanic attitudes toward divorce. Most notably, the qualitative data suggests that Hispanic individuals are willing to evaluate their own circumstances when considering divorce as an option. Clinical implications of the results and suggestions for future research are offered.
