Thesis (Ed.D.)--Northern Arizona University, 2013.
This correlational designed study allowed the researcher to examine the relationship between Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB) and communication satisfaction on elementary school campuses in one suburban school district in Arizona. Furthermore, this study examined whether differences exists between the level of OCB and communication satisfaction level and various school sizes. The final purpose of this study was to determine if differences exist between the level of OCB and communication satisfaction level and Arizona’s student achievement labels. The population consisted of public elementary school teachers employed at the same school during both the 2012–13 school year and the 2011–12 school year. Data was collected using three separate sources: teachers shared their opinions using a Likert-type scale, the school district provide the average daily membership numbers for each school participating in the study, and the Arizona Department of Education website was accessed to determine student achievement letter grades of the participating schools.

The findings indicated a positive relationship between organizational citizenship behavior and communication satisfaction in elementary schools located in one suburban school district in Arizona. No differences were found between OCB level and achievement label or school size. The data also proved no differences in communication satisfaction and achievement level. However, teachers at large elementary schools reported less communication satisfaction than teachers at medium sized schools.
