This book explores the gendered geographies of skilled migration, specifically the practices, dispositions, relationships and resources of professional women who participate in the global care industry. Drawing on a wealth of interviews with migrant women care assistants and experts in the fields of labour, care and migration, the book address three major questions: Why do professional women migrate for jobs for which they are overqualified? What strategies do they use to cope with their decisions? And what are the outcomes of their actions in terms of their social and economic adaptation within the host country?
