The purpose of this study was to determine the degree to which one-time diversity training had an effect on perceived discrimination in the workplace. This was an experimental study that used a Solomon four-group design to investigate the effectiveness of the diversity training. This study took place at the Central Missouri State University Campus from June 2003 through September 2003. The subjects included 152 employees working for the Physical Plant. The employees were randomly divided into four groups. Two of the groups were tested prior to the scheduled diversity training. One of the groups that was tested and one of the groups that was not tested were trained. All four groups were tested after the training. The results of the statistical analysis of the data support the conclusion that one-time diversity training does not have a measurable effect on perceived discrimination in the workplace.Subjects--Topical Terms:
