This study examined the use of educational benefits by members of the 913th Airlift Wing (AW), an Air Force Reserve Unit located at the Willow Grove Air Reserve Station, PA. Educational benefits include the Montgomery GI Bill - Selected Reserve (MGIB - SR), also known as the Reserve GI Bill, the Air Force Reserve Tuition Assistance Program (TA), the Community College of the Air Force (CCAF), and the College Level Equivalency Program (CLEP).Subjects--Topical Terms:

520 $a The researcher surveyed 909 reservists. A total of 344 (37.8%) surveys were returned for analysis. Also, a content analysis was conducted on a focus group and three interviews.
520 $a The major findings of the study were: (1) Approximately 29% of the respondents do not plan to further their education, but about 48% do. (2) The most cited reason for not furthering education by reservists in this study was "no time". (3) Educational benefits are not a primary reason for remaining affiliated with the Air Force Reserve. (4) A lack of basic and current information concerning educational programs is evident.
