Thesis (D.Min.)--Fuller Theological Seminary, Doctor of Ministry Program, 2003.
The goal of this project is to produce a training manual that equips lay believers to be effective cross-cultural communicators of Christian truth. The study examines trends in the modern world toward increased cross-cultural contact and interaction. These circumstances present Christians with unprecedented opportunities to communicate the gospel to people of all cultural groups. Four specific avenues are explored: local cross-cultural ministry, short-term missions, tentmaker missionary service, and cross-cultural media ministry. Believers who desire to minister in these ways must be equipped to cross the culture barriers for the sake of the Great Commission.

Foundational to effective Christian cross-cultural communication is a biblical and theological perspective of human culture. Culture is the product of the energies of humankind, God and Satan and is, therefore, a mixture of good and evil elements. Followers of Jesus have been commissioned not only as agents of divine redemption but also as influencers for righteousness on human cultures. These two roles of Christ's Church involve cross-cultural communication.
