Data were collected from historical records of Lexington Christian Academy. The challenges of staying true to the evangelical Christian origins of the school are highlighted. A second school, Westside Academy, is presented as an in-depth case study. Data was collected through individual and focus group interviews, and written materials provided by the school. Data is coded around the categories of faculty, students, curriculum, extra curricular activities, and governance.

The researcher concludes that the biblical worldview orientation of these schools is what makes them distinctive. Teachers model worldview living and teach students how to approach each subject area through the lens of a biblical worldview. The statement of faith is the basis for the mission and practice in these schools.
