Thesis (M.S.)--University of Massachusetts Lowell, 2004.
As XML rapidly becomes the standard for data exchange over the Web, securing XML documents has drawn more and more attention. Lately, the Compressed Accessibility Map (CAM), an efficient access control for XML has been proposed, but there is yet a system that utilizes CAM to process queries to XML documents. In this thesis, an XQuery processor is developed in Java, along with a graphical user interface. The program builds the optimal CAM of an input XML document, analyzes an XQuery to this XML document and produces results according to the access control information provided. Also, improvements to the original proposed CAM method are presented. Experiments are also performed to validate the program.Subjects--Topical Terms:
