This descriptive study examined body size distortion and body size dissatisfaction in male and female college students. A body size questionnaire adapted from previous studies was used. The test-retest method was used to measure the reliability of the results. A convenience sample of 72 students participated. Most students perceived themselves to be larger than they actually were and desired to be smaller. Paired <italic>t</italic>-tests and two-sample <italic> t</italic>-tests were used to examine the difference in body size distortion and body size dissatisfaction in male and female college students. No significant differences were found in body size distortion or body size dissatisfaction in males and females. The body image questionnaire was found to be a reliable tool to measure perceived and desired body size.Subjects--Topical Terms:
