On March 1, 2001 at A. B. Miller High School, four choreographic works were presented as part of the requirements for the Master of Arts degree program in Dance: <italic>A Shroud of Silence</italic>, eight and a half minutes; <italic> It Takes Two to Tango</italic>, six minutes; <italic>Still I Rise</italic>, five minutes; and <italic>Acuyuye</italic>, three and a half minutes.

520 $a <italic>A Shroud of Silence</italic>, choreographed by the M.A., was inspired by the plight and persecution of the women living in Afghanistan. <italic> It Takes Two to Tango</italic>, also choreographed by the M.A. candidate, modern dance and tango vocabularies. <italic>Still I Rise</italic>, a student choreographed work, was supervised by the M.A. candidate. The poetry of Maya Angelou about a relationship between a grandmother, mother, and daughter/granddaughter inspired the choreography. <italic>Acuyuye</italic>, a student choreographed work, was also supervised by the M.A. candidate. Salsa dance movement and vocabulary created this work. <italic>Acuyuye</italic> presented the required lighting design. <italic>Still I Rise</italic> presented the required costume design.
