This study was designed to answer the following questions: (1) To what extent does music in hypermedia courseware have an effect on music achievement? (2) To what extent does music in hypermedia courseware have an effect on preference for world music courseware? In order to answer these questions, two versions of the Music of Africa courseware were developed. The only difference between the two versions was that the experiment version featured the additional use of music to help deliver lesson content.
