Lack of insight into culture can leave an organization vulnerable to these changes. In order to manage culture, managers must have an understanding of their organization's culture. The objective of this research was to determine whether a concise measurement tool can be developed to adequately measure organizational culture. This paper documents the development of the Organizational Culture Assessment, a tool for measuring organizational culture. A literature review of organizational culture definitions resulted in five common culture elements. These elements were used to formulate the questions for each section of the survey. A study of high technology organizations was then conducted using the survey. The findings provide evidence to support the validation of the Organizational Culture Assessment.
