Thesis (M.S.Eng.)--University of Massachusetts Lowell, 2001.
The present study was directed at a literature search of United States Patents directed at the field of Metallocene Polymerization. Electronic database searching confirmed the tremendous growth and development of this field. The results are presented under various search stringers and key inventors in the field. Metallocenes reveal themselves as the subject of organic chemistry curiosity dating back to 1953, followed by a literal explosion in their use as olefin polymerization catalysts throughout the 1990's and through the present. It is evident that there is no end in sight and that the future of metallocenes as olefin polymerization catalysts is wide open.
