Outcomes of using the Occupational Adaptation Model for intervention with three adolescents with sensory processing deficits participating in an occupational therapy life skills program were studied. A single system design with multiple baselines and multiple target outcomes was implemented. Qualitative and quantitative data collection and analyses were conducted. Outcomes indicated that the Occupational Adaptation Model was effective in eliciting improvements in adaptive response behaviors, perceptions of quality of life, self-awareness, and self-reflection skills. Significant changes in coping skills were elicited for two of the three participants. Implications for occupational therapy and future directions for research were discussed.
