Real Estate Agency represents a unique form of product marketing. There are many aspects to the vocation that make it unlike any other form of sales representation or indeed profession. There must be certain people who are typically drawn to the array of tasks involved in agency and those who are particularly successful within it. The primary purpose of this study was to establish a personality 'type' profile for the New Zealand Real Estate Agency profession and to establish any relationship that exists between these profile variables and sales performance. This 'type' profiling is based on the theory of 'psychological type' as postulated by Carl Gustav Jung, the Myer-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI-Form M) was facilitated to establish these types. This instrument was designed specifically to operationalize the theory of Jungian psychological type.
