Thesis (M.S.N.)--Wilmington College Division of Nursing (Delaware), 2004.
A synopsis of literature published between 1997 and the present on the issue of the failure to retain and graduate African-American students from schools of nursing is presented. This project discusses some of the reasons for this failure. It also identifies mentoring as an effective strategy for diversity in nursing programs. Over all findings revealed that there is a severe shortage of well grounded, quality research on this problem.
