Thesis (M.S.)--State University of New York at Binghamton, 2005.
In these hard times, this research focused on using relatively old pieces of assembly equipment and customizing them for the relatively modern manufacturing scenario, as an attractive and viable solution to the above mentioned problems. Two pieces of assembly equipment have been considered, one in the manufacturing sector and the other in the academic research sector. An effort has been made to revive, customize, and qualify these equipment so that they can effectively function for their applications in the current scenario, thereby saving a huge capital investment for the owners.
