This study analyzed the impact of location of origin, the relationship between pre-and post-consumption valuation, the effects of health information, and the effects of heterogeneity in endowments in experimental auctions. Respondents bid in a series of auctions with differing sets of information about potatoes.

It was also found that both the information from the taste attribute (experience) and the health attribute (credence) played a significant role in participant valuation. Finally, analysis showed that endowment heterogeneity had no impact on participant bids.
