As Occupational Therapists (OT's) evaluate and treat visual-motor perception the results of this study benefit the Occupational Therapy profession and especially school-based OT's.

Twenty-four second grade students in two separate classrooms participated in a quantitative study that examined the difference between a noisy condition and a quiet condition from chair movement.

The results revealed that the mean of the test scores under the noisy condition was 2.37 and the test scores under the quiet condition was 1.708. This indicates that the children performed better when the Hushh-ups were fitted onto their chairs. However, the difference was not statistically significant T = -1.072 and p = .295. Further research is needed using a more detailed and challenging visual-motor test. (Abstract shortened by UMI.)
