It explores the software used for the course, including music notation, MIDI and sequencing, computer aided instruction, and PowerPoint, as well as introducing the Internet and History as they pertain to music technology. This text serves as a basic manual for the various programs taught in the course, including Finale, Sibelius, Digital Performer, GarageBand, Practica Musica, and PowerPoint, giving students an opportunity to read and examine materials while working on projects. It also includes a chapter covering the history of music technology, which can be useful for students in finding information pertinent to their final projects in the class.
