Purpose. To determine which factors are best predictors of ATCs' diabetes knowledge levels.

Problem. ATCs are required to refer metabolic conditions. Certain factors must be discovered to predict ATCs' type I diabetes knowledge.

Method. A descriptive investigation was conducted. 224 randomly selected ATCs participated using the Brief Diabetes Knowledge Test. A step-wise regression analysis determined which factors were best predictors of diabetes knowledge of ATCs.

Findings. Best predictor factors of ATCs' diabetes knowledge levels are age, number of years as an ATC, and route of ATC education. Older ATCs portrayed higher levels of diabetes knowledge. Accredited athletic training education programs are more beneficial for obtaining higher diabetes knowledge.

Conclusion. ATC age, years as an ATC, and route of ATC education are best for predicting ATCs' diabetes knowledge. The change in athletic training educational programs to become accredited has shown to be beneficial for ATCs' diabetes knowledge.
