520 $a The problem. The purpose of this study is to examine student athletes' perceptions of their own spiritual development as influenced by their respective coaches' leadership.
520 $a Method. Seven hundred and fourteen hardcopy Scantron surveys were returned from the 11 GSAC schools. These surveys which contained 13 forced responses and one unforced response were completed by college athletes at these 11 schools. Each athlete used at least one year of eligibility with the respective coach. The survey was designed for student athletes to answer the questions revealing if something systematic operated in regards to their coach having spiritual influence in their lives during their career with that coach.
520 $a Results. The study found statistical significance when a Chi-Square test was conducted to evaluate the differences of frequency in the factors of (p.<.01). The Chi-Square test results demonstrated that something systematic operated such that significantly more respondents indicated that their coach had influenced them in their spiritual lives while an athlete at their respective institution.
