Thesis (D.M.)--University of Phoenix, 2006.
The purpose of this quantitative, descriptive, correlational research study was to conduct an empirical investigation concerning information technology (IT) workers' perceptions of ineffective leadership styles, specifically to examine the workers' leadership styles that influence the workers' behavioral outcomes. The second purpose of the study was to determine the degree and the direction of a possible relationship between the workers' perceptions of leadership styles and the workers' behavioral outcomes. The literature review preceding the study established the historical progression of effective leadership styles and exposed a paradigm shift focused on the principles of transformational leadership. Participants in the study completed the Multifactor Leadership Questionnaire to discover a correlation between the workers' perceptions of leadership styles and the workers' behaviors.
