In this qualitative inquiry, I examined multicultural awareness and the social connections of middle school students in an urban school. During this inquiry project, I observed four students' social relationships with their peers as well as their awareness of the different cultures that surrounded them in their school setting. The data collected was through qualitative inquiry, which involved, collecting class work, observing students, and interviewing students, parents, and teachers. The results showed that teaching about race and stereotypes helps students relate better socially with each other. Students began to let their guard down and go out of their comfort zone to meet new people.
