Thesis (M.S.)--San Jose State University, 2005.
The purpose of this thesis is to measure differences in knowledge, attitude, and awareness of basic office ergonomic principles and guidelines. It is expected that injured workers have more knowledge and awareness of office ergonomic principles and guidelines than non-injured workers, and that injured workers are more willing to change their work environments and work behaviors than non-injured workers. This is based on the assumption that injured workers receive patient education after filing Workers' Compensation claims.

The test population consisted of 60 employees from the California Department of Health Services. Nine were injured workers with musculoskeletal disorders. Assessments were given before and after training, and the results were compared within groups (injured and non-injured) and between groups (injured vs. non-injured). The results did not show a significant difference between groups when compared before and after training, but did show a significant difference within groups before and after training.
