In fulfillment of the requirements for a Master of Fine Arts degree, three dances were choreographed and performed at the Martha B. Knoebel Dance Theater located at the California State University, Long Beach campus. The dates of the premieres were February 20, 2003, October 12, 2003, and October 7, 2004. The dances were 18 minutes, 15 minutes, and 16 minutes in length, respectively. Mannequin Americans portrayed the tendencies of individuals to interact habitually, likening them to mannequins, stiff and lacking in warmth. Lost and Found Laughter used a sound score of random and unrelated sounds as a background for the potential awkwardness of human interaction, punctuated by the reassuring sound of human laughter. Breathing Room presented the effects of technology on planet earth, and the choices that individuals might make to find peace in the face of the diminishing natural environment.
