Thesis (M.F.A.)--California State University, Long Beach, 2005.

Four choreographic works were produced as part of the Master of Arts degree program in Dance and were performed at the Martha B. Knoebel Dance Theater. Mei Angeli, 13 minutes in length and choreographed by the candidate, blended modern dance with ballet-based technique to create images of angels and men; it was performed 3--4 December 2003. Performed on 4--5 February 2005 were (1) Tessarac---Beginnings, 8:14 minutes long, an abstract work by the candidate about energy, time, and space; (2) Earth, 4 minutes in length, created by student choreographer Paul Montalvo as a tribute to women; and (3) A Woman's Way, 4:17 minutes long, reflected Asian cultural origins of student choreographer Julie Han about samurai women. Costumes were designed for A Woman's Way, to enhance the narrative work. Lighting was designed for a guest choreographer/dancer, Rochelle Roberts' Timeline, to support her vision of time passage in the relationship of two women. These works are documented in this paper.
