This study compares the experience of fatherlessness as reported by fatherless adolescents and adolescents from intact homes (homes with a father present). There are no prior comparative studies of Fatherlessness, which examine issues such as: violent crime, drug and alcohol abuse, truancy, teen pregnancy, suicide and mental health from this perspective. This study compares results from 20 adolescents using the Conner's Rating Scales-Revised (CRS-R) and the Fatherlessness survey to determine whether these issues are predominant solely to fatherless adolescents as suggested by prior research. Parent, teacher, and adolescent versions of the CRS instruments were administered to provide further structured and normed information and then compared to finding of adolescent responses.
