This study involved a comparative analysis of the enrollment patterns and completers' placement rate of all 18 community college welding programs located in geographical boundaries of Los Angeles County, Orange County, Riverside County, San Bernardino, and Ventura County, California. Welding programs were grouped and compared depending on their accreditations and participation in voluntary national skill standards curriculum guidelines.

The results of this study revealed that welding programs with industry-generated credentials and welding programs that participated in industry-generated skills standards had a significant higher enrollment patterns than welding programs without credentials and non participants in industry-generated skill standards.
