A novel method using correlative operations to improve the performance of the conventional Digital Signal Processing (DSP) was developed. This method is called Correlative Digital Signal Processing (CDSP). There are four major factors in signal processing: transient effect, noise tail, frequency response, and phase response. To minimize the distortion on the output signal after the DSP, those four factors should be optimized. However, the filter used in the conventional DSP has limited effectiveness in minimizing transients. By using correlative operation, the proposed CDSP produces a high fidelity output signal as compared to the input. The mathematical model of the CDSP was presented. An example of the CDSP was illustrated using electrical circuits. It showed that the CDSP has superior performance compared to the conventional DSP.
