This research was conducted to discover the perceptions of faculty at universities across the U.S. regarding the importance and usage of a variety of education outcomes assessment methods in industrial hygiene master's degree programs. The research involved completing a short online survey questionnaire provided via e-mail. The survey asked subjects to rank various methods as to their relative degree of importance in assessing their industrial hygiene master's degree programs. Subjects were also asked to identify the extent to which each method was employed at their institutions. The survey results revealed several assessment methods that were considered important to faculty, some that were not, and for the most part, that methods considered important were also employed, with some notable exceptions. The results led to the conclusion that there was a consensus of the responding faculty about which assessment methods are important and widely used in industrial hygiene master's degree programs.
