God After Metaphysics: A Theological Aesthetics attempts to offer us new ways to re-imagine God and the religious experience otherwise than the onto-theological tradition of metaphysics. This can be occasioned through a questioning of our conceptual cluster of divine attributes such as being, omnipresence, omnipotence, omniscience, actuality and eternity. A commitment to ultimacy, transcendence and alterity will guide us in our effort to sketch the cartography of what remains largely unmapped territory. We are obligated, I believe, ethically, politically, and religiously, to tell and retell stories that leave us open to the call of the other in such a way as to let God's promise become a bit more possible. Opposed to what I would call "triumphalist teleologies and ideologies of power," I would maintain that the various phenomena of God and experiences of the divine sought in this work (notably through the paradigms of three senses: seeing, hearing and touching) would open the door to a micro-eschatology. For here we will be concerned with a divinity that comes in tiny, almost imperceptible acts of love or in the poetics of justice. These are testimonies to the possible that becomes incarnate in all these little moments of eschatological enfleshment.
