The purpose of the study was to examine African American women who are HIV positive their perception of everyday life as it relates to their overall quality of life. Data was collected on 54 participants from two social service agencies who receiving HIV related services within Alabama.

520 $a Quality of Life perceptions were determined by using the World Health Organization Quality of Life Scale (WHOQOL-100). Participants were all African American women who had been diagnosed with HIV. All participants were over the age of 18 years. Overall, participants showed very low quality of life perceptions in the areas of their everyday experiences and life satisfaction, surprisingly their personal belief perceptions remained high in that the majority of women felt secure within their religion/spirituality.
