The account of Genesis reveals that teaching first took place in an open field in the Garden of Eden. God was teaching the first couple about right and wrong. Since then, the teaching vocation has been undertaken by priests, rabbis, scribes, and parents in the home. Parents were obligated to teach their children the statutes of the Lord and to pass their heritage to the next generation. The teacher's main purpose is to disclose the truth to the pupils. The teacher is to be a guide and a model to the students. They are to instruct, train, and discipline the pupils.

God is the master teacher. He teaches through prophets or prophetesses, seers, kings, and common people in different times and various ways. Jesus represented the Father and taught what he knew and learned from Him. Jesus used a variety of teaching methods. Some of Jesus' teaching methods included the conversational method, the question-answer method, modeling, demonstration, the wisdom-poetic method and the story-telling method. He was not bound by time, space, and curriculum. He taught according to the people's needs. Jesus' teaching methods were distinctive and unique. His audience felt authority at his teachings.

Eastern Bible College at Dimapur was the setting for this applied research project. The Teacher-seminar was implemented for five days. Lesson plans were taught during these five days. The teaching methods of Jesus were the basis for this teaching seminar. Discussion, open debate, and critical evaluation were made regarding the applicability of Jesus' teaching methods in the northeastern Indian context. It was interesting to find out that Jesus' teaching methods were very relevant in the northeastern cultural context. The faculty members were receptive to the teaching materials and tools of the teaching method. These teaching methods will serve better the faculty members in the teaching ministry of Eastern Bible College, Dimapur.
