Thesis (M.A.)--Royal Roads University (Canada), 2005.
The idea that diminished levels of trust can negatively impact organizational effectiveness is a relatively new one. A casual glance through the most recent publications on leadership reveals a keen focus on the importance of trust in the workplace. Many authors have acknowledged the need for trust within the organizational setting, but very few of them have attempted to address the challenges associated with measuring and strengthening it. In an attempt to examine these missing components, this project worked directly with Medicine Hat School District No. 76 to design a tool that would measure the degree to which trust exists within the organization and provide insight as to how the organization could begin the process of strengthening existing levels of trust.
