This project describes the construction of emindhealth.com, which maintains a national on-line directory of over 250,000 licensed mental health providers. The directory is searchable by type of provider, city and state, zip code, specialty, language spoken, insurance coverage, treatment technique, session format, age and demographic specialties. All fifty states are represented. The website also provides information about the process of finding a therapist, to support individuals who are seeking mental health services. This information includes a definition of mental health, reasons why individuals go to therapy, ways to find a provider, printable forms with questions to ask a provider in the first visit and definitions of the types of providers and therapies.Subjects--Topical Terms:

The basic listing is free of charge. It includes the provider's name, address, telephone number, license type, license number, state of licensure, client age and demographics, treatment specialty and insurance coverage. The premium listing is a paid listing. It contains the information provided by the basic listing plus the provider's fax number, email address, website address, education, years in practice, professional associations, practice description, treatment techniques, session formats, prescription privileges, rate schedule, insurance and billing instructions, office hours and an optional photograph. It also includes a tool that allows the consumer to email the listing to a third party, find a map and driving directions to provider's office and verify if the provider has any ethical violations.
