The purpose of this final project is to define, evaluate, and provide strategic recommendations for implementation based on a theory of management in the area of leadership, as it pertains to leading organizations in the nonprofit sector of arts management. It will present and define the key ideas and concepts of the theory of Servant Leadership in relation to an organization's leadership structure and evaluation. Also being defined is the history of nonprofit theatre management and growth in the United States over the last half decade. The theory will then be used to examine non-profit theatres' organizational structure and leadership design, and suggest areas of change and consideration that may help nonprofit theatres effectively grow and efficiently manage during challenging economic times. Finally strategic considerations and plans will be presented to assist in implementation of the Servant Leadership management principles into the theatre organization.
