Since the beginning of time, man has associated color with sound and sought to find a concrete connection between the two. This study will differ in that it is seeking an instinctual relative association, not an existing physical or mathematical connection and will approach the subjects of music and color from a layman's point of view since that is for whom this study is directed and intended.

Synaesthesia will not be dealt with in this work as it is not only beyond the scope of this study but a rare condition that affects only 0.05 percent of the population. This study will prove that individuals instinctively associate pitch to value and the intended result of this study will be to develop a systematic process by which visual art will be converted to sound.

The conclusions drawn from this study will largely be a compendium of the feedback from instructors, peers and exhibit attendees. There will be sight-impaired persons in attendance from whom I will determine if there is any benefit of this process for people with visual disabilities. At the conclusion of the exhibition, a determination will be made whether it will be beneficial to continue the research.
