This work boards the detective novel published till now, from the native of Puerto Rico Wilfredo Mattos Cintron, and the tetralogy of the seasons of the year which chronologically appeared on 1989 by the Cuban Leonardo Padura Fuentes. Specifying of course in different concepts of the detective novel genre, but the emphasis is to reveal how both authors write their preoccupations of what happens in their countries using this genre. Another emphasis is to determine how these writers have followed the tradition of the genre and the ways they have helped or evolved the detective novel, particularly on their own countries.
