Many studies have investigated travel motivation and acculturation separately. However, there is a dearth of research available that specifically investigates the relationship between acculturation and motivation to travel after immigration. This study explored the relationship between acculturation and travel motivations of Chinese- American seniors. It utilized a survey research approach to collect data. A total of 402 respondents completed a questionnaire. Frequency distribution, t-test, and analysis of variance (ANOVA) were used to examine the data.

First, the respondents' past travel experiences did not affect their travel motivations. Second, gender did not have an effect on acculturation. Third, no difference was found in other acculturation dimensions based on age groups. Finally, acculturation levels influenced both the push-and-pull factors of travel motivation.
