There is a dearth of research regarding the exercise dosage required to meet physical activity recommendations and reduce adiposity indicators. The purpose of this study was to determine the exercise dosage required to reach at least 60-minutes of MVPA and its impact on adiposity indicators. Sixty-two overweight Hispanic and African American girls participated in either a three-week or four-week BOUNCE intervention. Participants wore accelerometers to assess their physical activity levels. Adiposity indicators (BMI, weight, body fat, and waist circumference) were taken pre- and post-intervention. The BOUNCE interventions significantly increased MVPA levels (p=0.020) over time. The four-week intervention had a significantly greater decrease in adiposity indicators (p=0.006) over time as compared to the three-week intervention. Waist circumference displayed the most significant decrease (p=0.001) (power=0.951). Thus, both BOUNCE interventions were considered successful at promoting physical activity and reducing abdominal obesity for minority girls.
