Thesis (M.A.)--University of Wyoming, 2010.
The introduction of communicative technology in secondary writing classrooms has had an influence on the pedagogical practices of teachers. Cromley and Azevedo (2008) state that 94% of students now use the Internet to conduct research in order to complete writing assignments (p. 287). The purpose of this study is to examine how the use of technology, both by teachers and students, affects instruction in writing classrooms. In addition, the study will also examine the influence of outside forces, such as economics and politics as they attempt to assert a level of manipulation on educational policy. The method of study will include an analysis of interviews administered to secondary English teachers in order to determine specific influences on writing pedagogy and practice.
