Thesis (D.M.A.)--Temple University, 2010.
This monograph proposes a method of assisting pianists in evaluating their pianistic skills. Howard Gardner's theory of "multiple intelligences" provides the organization for an analysis of the cognitive faculties involved in advanced piano playing. An analysis chart and instructions are included as a model. Intended as a practical guide for advanced pianists, this thesis is written from a pianist's point of view, informed by piano pedagogy, cognitive psychology and music cognition sources.
