次世代寬頻網路的部署和數位匯流是近年來國際上所重視的兩個發展議題。2008年全球金融風暴過後，各國政府紛紛投入各類型資通訊基礎建設，利用在資通訊科技基礎建設面的投資來振興國家經濟。2010年Mobile Internet in Taiwan所收錄的文章範圍除了台灣寬頻與行動上網應用現況外，還納入雲端運算、電子書、電視影音和光纖導入社區的調查成果，鑑於數位匯流時代的來臨以及寬頻匯流相關應用服務的興起，自本期起刊名將改為「Taiwan’s Internet and Mobile Environment」，以更加適切地捕捉並呈現我國現今資通訊社會發展的全貌。

520 3 $a Digital convergence and deployment of the next generation broadband Internet have in recent years become two issues of development drawing international attention. Since the outbreak of the 2008 financial crisis, governments have been one after another making investment into various types of information and telecommunications infrastructure to boost economy. Beginning this issue of 2011, the title of this publication is changed from Mobile Internet in Taiwan to Taiwan’s Internet and Mobile Environment with a view to closely reflecting a comprehensive picture of the development of broadband Internet applications in Taiwan. Collected in this issue are articles, in addition to one that depicts the current status of broadband and mobile Internet services, concerning findings of the III-FIND surveys on cloud computing, e-books, TV videos, and communities with fiber-optic access.
