The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of a hand washing awareness program. Providing a hand washing educational program increased the participants, knowledge of the importance of hand washing. The study was conducted in Tulare County, California, for preschool staff working at Head Start programs. A total of 122 adults received the hand washing awareness program. The data conclude that participating in the program significantly increased (.05) awareness about the importance of hand washing.
