This study investigates real-life practices and obstacles to sharing the gospel in a church with a solid foundation yet minimal evangelistic activity. The research focuses on how church members apply evangelism training and identifies obstacles to evangelistic engagement. The study collected qualitative data from fifty individuals trained in relational evangelism, observing their practices over ten weeks. After the project, fourteen participants were interviewed to delve into the motivations behind their actions. The findings indicated a strong preference for engaging in spiritual discussions with non-believers rather than directly sharing the gospel. When given the option to share the gospel one-on-one or invite others to church, most participants preferred a hybrid approach that combined personal engagement with church invitations. Many participants leaned towards personal spiritual practices associated with evangelism, such as praying for the lost, instead of actively participating in evangelistic efforts. The research identified significant barriers to evangelism, both personally and within the church. Nearly half of the participants lacked relationships with non-believers, which limited their opportunities to share their faith. This disconnect was also evident in the church, where most programs focused on the spiritual growth of believers while largely neglecting non-believers.Additionally, personal evangelism was often overlooked amid the busyness of life and the church's emphasis on discipleship. Nearly all participants expressed fears about relational consequences-such as causing offense or facing rejection-when thinking about sharing their faith. Furthermore, the lack of a clear, collective vision for collaborative evangelism left individuals to navigate their evangelistic efforts independently. The study concludes with recommendations for any church that effectively nurtures established believers but struggles to reach new disciples. These recommendations include developing and communicating a clear outreach and evangelism strategy, elevating evangelism church-wide, expecting people to belong before they believe, and adopting a collective evangelism mindset. These findings and recommendations may assist churches that have dedicated and faithful believers but few new conversions. By God's grace, this project can help guide churches in shifting from an inward focus to actively reaching their communities.
