This dissertation confirms Carl Bradford's identification of a third school of kerygmatic interpretation, the Anglican School. In addition, this study argues that the theological approach of the Anglican School re-emphasized a social gospel eschatology and missiology among evangelicals in the twenty-first century. Finally, the investigation discovered a cosmic emphasis within the Anglican School's kerygmatic understanding and missiological application, making its kerygma a gospel of cosmic transformation, or a cosmic gospel.The introduction contains a bibliographic essay, thesis, methodology, and definition of key themes.Chapter One examines the kerygmatic understanding of the social gospel theologians from the late nineteenth to the early twentieth century.Chapter Two examines the eschatology and missiology of the social gospel theologians.Chapter Three presents an opposing view from the gospel prioritists and examines their kerygmatic understanding, eschatology, and missiology.Chapter Four details the kerygmatic understanding of the Anglican School of Kerygmatic Interpretation and the similar theological emphases it shares with the social gospel.Chapter Five examines and outlines the theological tenets of the Anglican School's eschatology, or the New Heaven and New Earth Eschatology, drawing similarities between it and the postmillennialism of the social gospel.Chapter Six investigates the missiology of the Anglican School, identifying its resemblance to the social gospel missiology.Chapter Seven concludes the dissertation with a review, concluding observations, and implications.
